All references to “Storm Distribution” in this document refer to Storm Capital Investments (Pty) Ltd, trading as Storm Distribution.

Warranty Overview

Thank you for choosing Kalahari Shade. This warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable. It guarantees protection against manufacturing defects for the duration specified for each product type (see table below).

“Product” refers to any item sold under the Kalahari Shade brand, including shade sails, umbrellas, furniture covers, and pet beds. This warranty specifically covers UV degradation of the canopy/fabric only, unless otherwise noted.

All installation guides or instructions referenced in this warranty are included in your product’s packaging. Additional resources and a warranty registration form are available via the buttons below this policy on the website.

Product-Specific Warranty Summary

Exclusive Remedy

If a covered defect is discovered within the applicable warranty period, Storm Distribution will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective product (or part thereof). Any replaced or repaired product will only be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.

What’s Not Covered

This warranty applies only to manufacturing defects. Storm Distribution is not liable for damage or failure caused by:

Improper use or installation

• Installation, use, or application not following the included instructions
• Over- or under-tensioning of the product
• Use of non-genuine parts or unauthorised repairs
• Use of the product for purposes other than its intended function
• Modification or alteration without prior written approval
  
  

Environmental and external factors

• Weather, natural disasters, or force majeure (e.g. storms, lightning, hail, wind, flooding, earthquakes)
• Proximity to fire or excessive heat
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, solvents, or mechanical friction
  
  

Other exclusions

• Misuse, neglect, accidental or deliberate damage
• Movement or defects in walls, foundations or structures used for installation
• Surface corrosion on metal parts, fading, or purely cosmetic deterioration
• Continued use after a defect becomes apparent or should reasonably have been noticed
• Wear and tear or variations in colour or finish
  
  

Where Storm Distribution agrees in writing that a product is eligible for return, our liability is limited to repair or replacement only.

Installation & Safety

While our DIY guides are designed with care, they are general in nature and included in your product’s packaging. This applies particularly to permanent shade sails, where local building conditions and regulations may vary.

Your specific situation—such as soil type, fixing points, property layout, and intended usage—must be assessed individually.
We recommend that you:

• Follow the instructions included in your packaging
• Consult a builder or structural engineer if unsure
• Check with your local authority to confirm compliance with applicable building or installation regulations
  
  

Submitting a Warranty Claim

To file a claim, notify Storm Distribution in writing within 30 days of discovering a defect. Please provide:

• Proof of purchase
• Product name and barcode
• Date of delivery
• Description of the defect

Final Notes

This is your exclusive warranty from Storm Distribution. It is not transferable and is the only remedy available to you. No other warranties, conditions or guarantees apply.

Storm Distribution shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages—including personal injury, property damage, loss of income, or business interruption—arising from or relating to product use or failure.
